Ripley is good AF at pretty much everything.
Perfect for both seasoned shredders and stoked newcomers, the newest AF version packs the same fast, playful feel the Ripley is known for — into a tough aluminum package that’s ready for anything.
With 130mm of rear travel and 140mm up front, it climbs efficiently and descends way above its travel class. The confident progressive geometry gives it quick and responsive handling on tight trails while keeping things stable when the speed picks up. Designed for riders who value agility, capability, and all-around fun, the Ripley AF shares all the features of its carbon counterpart: dw-link suspension, 29” wheels front and rear, with flip chips to run a 27.5” rear wheel (if you’re into mullets), and in-frame storage with two included Ibis bags — for all your snacks and tools.

We've added a third size in the middle of the bell curve to provide a fit that’s just right. With 80% of our riders falling between 5’5” and 6’0”, we introduced a new "Extra-Medium" size. The extra-medium now sits in the middle of our size range. If you are solidly a Large or XL previously, then your size remains the same.
We’ve added more adjustability with a new flip chip - now you can run 29” or 27.5”/29” mixed (MX) wheels on all sizes without compromising the geometry. The Ripley ships with 29” wheels.
We continue to use the critically acclaimed dw-link suspension platform known for its efficient climbing and excellent downhill performance; it sets the standard for modern mountain bikes.
Our size-specific kinematics make sure every size bike pedals amazing while still keeping things ferociously smooth on challenging trails.
Get that gear off your back and into your bike with our frame storage system. The latch operates effortlessly, even in cold, muddy conditions while wearing gloves. The door is water-resistant, rattle-free, and robust.
Ibis has crafted a set of two internal bags for your snacks, tools, or whatever. The bags are crafted from durable, and water-resistant materials, with a bright interior to help see your stored items.

Ripley AF Specific FAQs
Yes, the rear shock is a custom tune with lighter compression and rebound damping. The fork is a standard tune, as the stock damper has enough tuning range to match the rear. To learn more about our Traction Tune philosophy, click here.
The Ripley is optimized around a 140mm fork. It is compatible with 130-150mm forks.
The Ripley AF V2 has a 55mm chainline.
55mm chainline cranksets include:
Sram Dub Wide Cranksets.
Shimano 6120, 8200, and 9200 Series Cranksets.
A variety of other manufacturers offer 55mm chainline cranksets. Verify with your preferred crankset manufacturer before purchasing and installing.

Yes, the Ripley AF V2 supports both 29” and 27.5” rear wheels. Ensure the flip chip is in the appropriate orientation for the wheel size that is installed.
Yes! Our new upper link driven suspension design supports any 210 x 52.5mm coil shock.
The standard shock size is 210 x 52.5mm. A longer stroke shock should not be used, as there is potential that the tire will rub on the saddle and seat tube. The use of a different size shock will void the frame’s warranty.

No. The flip chip position is clearly marked and should always match the rear wheel size installed. A mismatch between flip chip position and rear wheel size will negatively impact the bike's geometry.
Most 27.5” x 2.5” and 29” x 2.5” tires will fit on the Ripley AF V2. Always verify there is a minimum of 8mm of clearance between the frame and tire at the tightest point before riding.
The maximum round chainring on the Ripley AF V2 is a 34T. The minimum round chainring on the Ripley AF V2 is a 28T.
Yes, the max size oval chainring we recommend is a 32T. Not all oval chainrings are the same, so we recommend double checking clearance before installation.
A 26 oz Purist water bottle (with an Arundel Side Loader Cage, available on our webstore) fits on all frame sizes.

The Ripley AF V2 uses a 180mm post mount rear brake mount.
To run a 180mm rotor, you'll use the shimano caliper bolts. No adapter is needed.
To run a 203mm rotor, you'll use the following Shimano part number: SM-MA-F203P / P
To run a 220mm rotor, you'll use the following Shimano part number: SM-MA-F220P/PM

Dropper Post Saddle Height Calculations
Do not try to insert your post deeper than these measurements. Forcing the post can result in a seat tube failure.
IMPORTANT: Before riding, check the saddle to tire clearance with the dropper post fully dropped and the air out of the shock with frame compressed to bottom out.
